Well, it is almost that time of the year again, SUMMER! Everyone wants to be tighter and leaner for the summer time. You know that bathing suit that you have to dust off from the winter and try on to see if it still fits? If a bikini body is what you’re after come summer, it’s time to start now! Avoid the last minute panic and get your weight loss and diet regime sorted during the last weeks of spring.
Try to have at each meal a source of protein, one of good fats and one of vegetables with low-carbs.
Choose lean meats and fish – studies show that it helps the metabolism to run more efficiently and it burns 80 to 100 calories per day. Proteins are good because they prevent hunger cravings.
Good fats: coconut oil and olive oil. Use them in salads!
Low carb vegetables: broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, celery.
Eliminate sugar and starch!
Sweets, pastries, processed foods and starchy foods (potatoes, bread, pasta) stimulate the secretion of insulin – the hormone that “creates” fat deposits in the body.
Ideal is that blood insulin to not be increased. When you have a balanced level, the body burns the fat. Another benefit is that the kidneys eliminate excess salt and water from the body, which reduces bloating and water retention.
If you want to lose weight fast and healthy, try to remove these foods from the menu. And if possible, in the future avoid them as much as you can so you can achieve a healthy eating style!
Sport 3-4 times a week
Go to the gym 3-4 times a week and don´t just limit for the treadmill. It’s important to combine more exercises to burn as many calories. For example, lifting weights will help you burn extra calories and your metabolism will keep “plugged in”.
If lifting weights is not an option for you, try an hour of cardio: aerobics, spinning. In half an hour of these exercises, you can burn around 200-300 calories.
Drink plenty of water
When you don´t drink enough water it is very easy to get dehydrated. And sometimes you can confuse dehydration with hunger or craving for sugar.
Try to always have a bottle of water with you, whether you’re at work, at the gym or when you run errands.
Water decreases the appetite and helps to eliminate more effectively toxins from the liver, kidneys and digestive system.
